Have You Checked If AI Engines Cite Your Site? Here's a 2-minute exercise that might surprise you. Open three tabs: ChatGPT Perplexity Gemini In each one, type: "What is [your product/company name] and what does it do?" Then try: "What are the best tools for [your product category]?" What to look for: Does the AI mention you at all? Is the information accurate? Does it link to your site? Does it confuse you with something else? Most developers I've talked to have never done this. And most are surprised by the results — either their project is completely invisible, or the AI is confidently stating wrong information about it. This is the starting point for Generative Engine Optimization (GEO): understanding how AI engines currently perceive your content, and then systematically improving that. I'd love to hear your results. Drop a comment: What did the AI say about your project? Was it accurate? Were you cited or invisible? I'm writing a series on practical GEO techniques for developers.
