It’s the old phone on the shelf, screen black, still connected. It’s the WiFi plug that reports more than voltage. It’s the car that logs every turn you didn’t think mattered. Most people imagine surveillance as something external. Government vans. Corporate databases. Someone else watching. That’s outdated. What actually exists now is quieter. Personal. Voluntary, even.
